Going from Hopeless to Hopeful

Sleeping on the beach was normal. Begging for the smallest piece of food was normal. Homeless and alone, this was normal for Ema. Not an adult, not even a teenager, Ema at only nine years old had no family, no food, no school and certainly no hope for a future.

Emmanuel - GMI

Hopeless was his normal.

That was until God orchestrated hope, until He provided a beacon of hope to this hopeless child. What was planned as a fun beach trip for the children of GMI landed our Directors on the beaches Ema called home. There on “his” beach stood Ema, clothes tattered and torn and sores consuming his body, a normal day for Ema, broke the hearts of our team.

Hope came in an invitation to come join us at GMI. A place where we all knew Ema would find unending hope. Love, care, education and most importantly the love and hope found in our Savior.

His new normal looks like school, reading, writing, drawing and leading others in Bible devotions. Four years at GMI and HOPE has awakened Ema’s heart.

When you partner with us at Feeding The Orphans you help bring Hope to the Hopeless.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
