Through our Water for Life Program, Feeding the Orphans coordinates well drilling in remote villages in Ghana as a platform for sharing the gospel. New wells provide clean, accessible water to villages, and the gospel brings True Living Water (John 7:37-38).
Waterborne illnesses kill a child under the age of five every 20 seconds.* In Ghana alone, 150 children under the age of 5 die EVERY DAY – 25% of water-related intestinal diseases.
Dirty water kills. Dirty water causes sickness which leads to more orphans. 443 million school days are lost annually to sickness from unsafe drinking water.* These children have faces and names. Let’s join together to give them a future.
Last year with our Change for a Change campaign, we set our sights on the needy village of Alabonkata in Ghana. In the Central Region, the 1400 people of Alabonkatao farm every day to survive and walk a long way to fetch dirty water from a stream. You provided the resources required to drill this village 2 water wells so that they have a better opportunity to live, and live healthy lives. Clean water will save lives, prevent illness and keep children with their parents. WATER IS LIFE!
Find a bucket or a water bottle and gather as many coins as you can. Together we can make a big difference.
Our goal for each project is $5,000 to provide for a clean water well and allow FTO to invest spiritually in that village. This year our focus will be the village of Ajapomaa. Located in the central region of Ghana, Ajapomaa consists of 7000 people that are mostly cocoa farmers. Their main source of water is the local stream that runs through the village. So vital is this stream to their livelihood that the villagers unfortunately worship it. With a clean water borehole and the truth of the Gospel, this village WILL be transformed for the glory of God!
Through the physical needs for clean water, we desire to see all the people in these communities taste the living water of Jesus Christ.
Please join Feeding The Orphans in providing WATER FOR LIFE this Orphan Sunday, November 12, 2017.
